For nearly 40 years, students and families have visited Shelburne Farms connecting with livestock, meeting farmers and learning about the natural environment. After programs, families enjoy a walk across the Farm’s 14,000-acre grounds.
Everyone loves parades! Shelburne Farms hosts a Chicken Parade in the Children’s Farmyard, every morning from mid-spring through fall. Cat Wright, Family Program Coordinator and Farm-Based Educator, emcees a Chicken Parade as part of the farm‘s ABCs of Farm-Based Education workshop. She often signs a song to encourage the chickens and rooster to enter the farmyard. [Read more here.]
