Energy and water efficiency and improved visitor experiences were key criteria when John and Paul Nunes planned their recent winery expansion. Jamestown Vineyards, Greenvale Vineyards and Newport Vineyards use the Nunes’ facility to produce their wines.
A Therma-Stor heat recovery system captures waste heat from tank chillers. Using a CAEB grape vine baler and Buskirk Engineering grapevine pelletizer, the Nunes turn vine prunings into heat for their Visitor Center and office with radient floors. Large south-facing windows also help heat the new Tank Room and Visitor Center.
